Toilets

We've got one composting toilet, down by the greenhouse and across the burn, but the path there is overgrown by bracken and rather treacherous at night. A bit of scythe work and possibly retexturing the footbridge should solve that. The steps into it could also do with improvement.

There is a set of three concrete cubicles, 2.2m high by 0.97m square, open-topped and -fronted, cut into the side of the bank by the compost heaps. These were intended as drop-shafts for composting toilets, but would require a shed with benches built on top and a lot of infilling in the bank.

I (Sam, that is) built a wooden framework for a composting toilet to slot into one of the cubicles, on the basis that doing that and adding a roof & door would be a much quicker stopgap solution to the overflowing cesspit. There's 60 cubic feet underneath, and it can be shifted between cubicles when full.

Bathing

It would be easy to adapt one of the cubicles for a shower, too, with a tank (fillable with a bucket from the hot water tank in the barn), a valve (eg. ballcock) and sprinkler rose.
